Kettler HKS EXT7 Elliptical Cross Trainer Reviews
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Great for the price range, however..., By Paully (USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kettler HKS EXT7 Elliptical Cross Trainer (Sports) Great product overall. Very nice movement/ergonomics and sturdier than other brands in the same price range. Decent exercise program options but takes a bit of getting practice to get comfortable with the interface. It's worth the money as my wife and I use the trainer almost daily. The resistance band (magnetic) is really good; appropriate for beginners through the ultra athlete. Now onto the "However"...the belt tension was not set correctly from the factory and it resulted in having to change the belt after 4 days of use. Customer service was VERY helpful and pleasant to deal with. Replacing the belt wasn't difficult just a nuisance to take the unit all apart. Finding the right tension with the replacement belt was tricky. Now the new belt is on all seems well. Hopefully that issue doesn't resurface. All that aside we are quite pleased with the product overall--small footprint, great stride length suitable for our height (I'm 5'10" and my wife is 5'7"), relatively... I'm sure if you got theKettler models that were five or six thousand dollars you would have more of a gym quality machine. This machine is smooth and quiet. I have used it and a 250 lb. man has used it, both with the same smooth quiet operation. The cons would be that I was missing a couple of minor parts (as I was with a Kettler rower I got, so it must be typical of this company). And a couple of pieces loosened after initially putting it together. This may have been my fault, but I tightened it the same as I did initially and it seems to be fine now. In any machine, I highly recommend this type of build. My brother has one of the ellipticals that has the runners in the back and has had a horrific time with them "jumping" the tracks. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Sturdy and smooth, This review is from: Kettler HKS EXT7 Elliptical Cross Trainer (Sports) I have owned this cross-trainer for about 1 years and I'm pretty pleased about it.It stands firm even through vigorous use, and the 5 watt increments makes it possible to find a level for anyone's taste or day-shape. Among many settings it's possible to create your own training program, where you decide time and power at the individual steps (which is fortunate, since the default programs run for 120 minutes/24 km ;-) The extended motion makes for more realistic strides and I have found this to be more pleasant than what ordinary cross-trainers deliver. To monitor heart rate, there are three possibilities: a wireless Polar, a wired ear-clip or using the conductive handles. Go with the wireless Polar - the wired ear-clip comes loose easily, and the conductive handles start giving false readings fairly quickly, if you sweat profusely (like me). You might also want to cover the mini-jack for the ear-clip, since I suspect sweat-beads... Read more |
