The bell doesn't look bad, but it is quite large. The problems began when I installed the bell. I found it impossible to position the lever in a place where I could reach it without removing one of my hands from my flat handlebars. This is a bit of a problem because I usually need my bell in a tight spot where careful steering is also very important.The worst part was that half of the bell literally fell of as I was biking through a busy intersection. I went back to retrieve the part and screwed it back on, but the lever no longer works, so I now ring the bell by manually rotating the side of the bell with my hand. Basically, it is a low quality product with a totally different mechanism than most other bells out there, so unless you already know that it will work for you, go with a more popular type. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful  Loud and pleasant sound, classic look., Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Bee Cycle Resolving Bicycle Bell (Chrome) (Sports) This bell clamps sturdily to a standard handle bar and looks good. It is large enough to be heard 30-40 feet away so you can alert people that you are approaching even at high speed. The outer bell rotates while the hammer is on the inside, so you can flick the bell with your finger to get a polite "ding" or two, or you can bear down on the racheting lever to unleash a burst of rings or even a continuous stream of sound, as the rotational momentum of the bell itself will carry it past the cocking pause of the lever. It is a good design, based on the classical bike bells of yesteryear but the externally rotating shell (bell) is an improvement. Having said that, there is a slight caveat. The finish is a little rough and everything is made from stampings so this is not a "work of art" and doesn't run like a swiss watch although it does get better with use.
