I bought a couple of Flutter Blades for my kids bikes after hearing one go down the stee(I have one too!). Not only did it bring back fun memories for me but for those who have seen and heard it. I can't tell you how many people have stopped me to tell me the story of how they used to use their baseball cards and clothes pins when they were a kid and how it made riding their bikes so much more fun. More than one said they wished they had those baseball cards back now!So, I recommend that you save your old baseball cards for the collection and pick one of these gadgets up. Any thing that can keep my kids on their bikes and off texting is well worth it. Hi, I'm Tim Sturtevant - the inventor of the FlutterBladeTM. When I was a boy back in the '60s, like pretty much every kid in America, I used to clip baseball cards to my bike forks to get a "revved-up" engine sound. My Dad showed me how to wrap and clip the cards with a clothespin. From the first down-stroke of the pedal til when I came back around to where my Dad was standing the world suddenly shrank to a much smaller place. I now had an engine and the pedals were the gas! It was a very cool trick and the excitement of the experience made an indelible impression on me. The cards lasted less than 5 minutes but I clearly remember the power boost I got that day. Since my early formative bike experiences I've stayed in the saddle and am a life long cycle racer, auto/bike mechanic and inventor. Back in August of '07 I was in the same spot my Dad had been in.
