Bicycle 1800 Vintage Series Playing Cards by Ellusionist.com (BLUE)

Product Description

Ancient, worn and cracked. 1800's are ripped from history. No detail was left untouched-- artwork on each card was delicately hand-crafted by Ellusionist's top graphic team. Even the seal on the deck looks like it was left in a gritty New York alley "for a spell". The cards are an illusion in themselves, because they may look very old, but they handle better than anything out there. You have to keep telling yourself, this is a new deck of cards.

  • Ancient, worn and cracked. 1800's are ripped from history
  • Available in Red and Blue backs
  • Quality finish that delivers
  • More grunge, more cracks, more ancient beauty - yet brand new
  • "They look so old and rustic, yet handle so smoothly." - used by Mike Super, winner of NBC's Phenomenon Series

5.0 out of 5 stars Unusual, Quality Product, December 20, 2009

I have purchased Ellusionist cards in the past, and when I saw this new series, I decided I had to give them a try. The cards (like all Ellusionist cards) are good quality playing cards for everyday use. The unique feature with these cards are the faded, cracked look that makes them appear much older than they are. After opening the deck, the thought came to me that historical reenactors (such as cowboys, civil war and maybe even rendezvous) would like these for use at the reenactments. While they probably aren't of period design, they would be better than a "new" deck of cards.

The cards themselves are of very good, but not great quality. You should expect a year or more of fairly constant play, but they aren't as high quality as KEM. However, they also don't cost near as much either.

In summary, if you enjoy playing cards and are looking for something a little different than every other playing card out there - these are the cards for you.

This is a great product! I really like how the box and the deck look like they are really old and worn out. They are really nice to play with, smooth and look very nice and detailed. This is a great deck and I look forward to playing a lot with them, only thing is, what will they look like when I ware out a worn out looking deck? Blank? I'm sure that will take a very long time to do, but I'll try! Great item for yourself or as a gift.

Close your eyes and hold these cards, and you will know this is a brand new deck. They are crisp, with the glide and ease of handling that you would expect from any new Bicycle deck. Now open your eyes...the "wear and tear" look is impressive! From the worn out look on the box itself, to the beat-up look of each card face and back, this deck is sure to add a touch of personality to card tricks or poker games.

My one worry before the cards arrived: Would the wear pattern on the back of the cards be identical from card to card? The answer is yes! This matters because, without it, this essentially would become a marked deck of cards, where you could pick out a certain card by looking for differences in the wear and tear. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you plan to use these), the pattern is identical from card to card (on the backs...not on the faces).

On a related note, the wear pattern on the back is NOT symmetrical. In other words, if you... Read more
