Not sure if this was the caused, but the stand would not hold my 22" ViewSonic monitor upright in portrait mode. Also, buyers should clearly understand that you cannot swivel the monitor with this mount - in order to switch between portrait and landscape mode, you must remove the bracket mounting plate from the back of the monitor and reinstall it in the other mode; otherwise the hooks that attach the monitor to the bracket wouldn't work (they slide into the bracket vertically. 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful: Right for some people, but not me, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: 3 Way Adjustable Tilting Desk Mount Bracket for LCD(Max 33Lbs, 10~25inch)- Black (Electronics) Pros: - Price - Looks decent - Works well in the right situations - Comes with monitor mounting plate Cons: - Description doesn't list minimum desk thickness. Mine is 1", which isn't too thin, but I still had to use a spacer. This clamp stops just shy of clamping down on a 1" surface. - If the base is offset, with the monitor hanging off the left or the right, the monitor will not be level. There is no adjustment to fix this. I put a washer under one half of the base, which causes the main support post to lean slightly to the left, but the monitor is now level - Cheap plastic molded screws connect the monitor to the stand. I swapped them out for two other bolts and washers and a dab of LocTite - Difficult to tighten enough to prevent movement Reasons To Buy: - You don't mind fiddling a bit to save some money - Your desk is over 1" thick - The main support post will be centered behind the... The construction is sturdy, but the connector to the monitor relies on two plastic fused to metal screw to control the torque. Which means, when the screw goes bye bye, your monitor no longer stays up instead it faces down. Not recommended!! |
