The active ingredient is identical to these but you save a fortune if you take them often. So I fully understand that my experience may be unique. I suffer from allergies almost all year long. I take an allergy medication every day (OTC). I've been using Zyrtec (Cetirizine) for a few years now after having little success with Claritin (Loratadine). My doctor recommended trying to switch to something else so that I don't get too "used to" Zyrtec and it not be as effective (that's my interpretation, that's not his exact words).So I did. I ordered Allegra. It didn't work. Not even kind of. It didn't provide any form of relief. I even tried it for a few days, followed the instructions (empty stomach, no juice, etc. Nothing. So I switched back and got immediate relief. Maybe it's due to my body trying to cope with a different substance. Maybe I should have given it a week or month.
