  1. Having come from the electric guitar school of thought, when I set out to buy an acoustic recently, I decided that I wanted something more compact to play when im being lazy and browsing through tabs at home. I also wanted something that had bright tone, played very well, looked nice (engaging) and felt good in the hands. Initially I wanted something a little higher end, but used. Then I stumbled across the Ibanez AEG. The guitar is visually engaging; it actually does look much more impressive in person than it does in pictures. This guitar needed some work before I was happy with it. I had the saddle taken down just a little. I had the truss rod adjusted. A couple of the frets seemed to be a little sharp so I took a fine file to them to get them to sit in the same as the all the others. All in all, it was a worthwhile investment. I ended up a with a pretty neat little guitar that keeps me interested. It plays better then most of the acoustics ive laid hands on and sacrifices nothing in the way of tone or brightness. When unplugged, it's not as loud as a full size dreadnought body acoustic (not even close) but I actually prefer this. It's plenty loud enough regardless....and when I plug it in it gives a surprising amount of resonance and presence.

Long time acoustic players will probably not be all that impressed with this guitar. However...if you favor the electric and want a slick little acoustic that serves well in both the practice role at home and on stage... you could do a lot worse than this pretty little Ibanez.
