Children so often like to imagine that they are different kinds of animals. This book makes a game of such imaginations and highlights positive traits associated with each animal. It is a month's worth of fun. My favorite is the Lion Game. As the king of the jungle, the lion is able to decide which animals may stay and which must leave. This story shows that in pretending to be lions, children have the ability to decide which of their moods they wish to keep and which they will send away. This is a valuable lesson for children of all ages and one that will be enjoyed with each reading and rereading of "A Boat Full of Animals". What child would not enjoy such games of imagination? What parent would not be appreciative for a child who adopted such positive traits? |
